On February 6, Zhongshan City held a city-wide high-quality development conference. At the conference, Deng Jun, general manager of Guangdong Jinding Intelligent Manufacturing Clothing Technology Co., Ltd. The clothing industry is a typical representative of the traditional manufacturing industry. In recent years, under the guidance and support of the Party committees, governments and relevant functional departments at all levels in Zhongshan, Jinding Intelligent Manufacturing has taken advantage of the trend. Starting from 2022, a new industrial park will be built, and a digital factory will be planned and laid out to transform the company into a clothing intelligent manufacturing company integrating R&D, design, production and supply chain management.
"We regard innovation as the core driving force for the development of the company. We have established R&D and design centers in Guangzhou and Zhongshan respectively, established measures and mechanisms to encourage inventions and creations, and obtained more than 30 patents of various types." Deng Jun introduced that through in-depth research on clothing design and production, the company uses artificial intelligence algorithms and big data analysis to accurately design and produce clothing products that meet the personalized needs of consumers, and realize rapid changes and flexible production. For example, by introducing intelligent design, optimizing sample workshops and approval processes, the development of new products has been reduced from 5-7 days to 3-4 days, the development of sample garments has been reduced from 4-5 days to 2-3 days, and the first piece of the workshop has been reduced from 3 days to 0.5-2 hours. "This change not only meets the increasingly diversified and personalized clothing needs of consumers, but also helps customers quickly seize market opportunities and create greater value. The company has established close cooperative relationships with many clothing brands and stood out from the competition."
Deng Jun introduced that in the transformation and upgrading of enterprises, especially production lines, Jinding Intelligent Manufacturing has focused on three aspects: digitalization, intelligence, and leanness. On the one hand, through lean layout, the production process is shortened and logistics turnover is accelerated. On the other hand, a new digital system is customized and developed to form a unified data platform, break the information island, and improve the timeliness and accuracy of data. At the same time, it is equipped with advanced experimental and testing equipment, and introduces advanced equipment such as automated fabric warehouses and automatic cutting machines. Combined with lean production and system data management, a full-process intelligent production model is created to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
After a series of measures, the daily output of the factory has increased from 30,000 pieces per day to the current 100,000 pieces per day; at the same time, unmanned operation has been achieved in multiple key parts, and the number of semi-finished products piled up in each sewing group waiting for production has been greatly reduced; in addition, the time from cutting pieces to finished garments has been shortened from the original 3 days across floors to 0.5-2 hours to complete the first piece off the line, successfully moving from a traditional garment factory to a digital and intelligent factory.
It is reported that before the transformation, Jinding Intelligent Manufacturing was highly dependent on manpower and experience in fabric storage, cutting piece storage, cutting, etc., and the proportion of labor costs continued to rise. Workers' skills and emotional fluctuations can easily affect delivery time and quality. For example, a cloth drawing machine requires at least 6 people to operate, the number of cloth drawing layers is limited, and it is difficult to ensure the flatness and alignment accuracy of the fabric based on experience and feel. The speed is slow and the accuracy of the cutting piece size is poor, which increases material waste and affects subsequent processes. In order to cope with the challenges of increased labor demand, increased costs, and improved quality, Jinding Intelligent Manufacturing has invested a large number of automated equipment, such as intelligent pattern machines and automatic barrel opening machines, to reduce labor intensity, improve efficiency and quality stability. With the above performance, Jinding Intelligent Manufacturing will become the first digital and intelligent demonstration factory in Zhongshan's clothing industry in 2024.
In terms of practicing green development, Jinding Intelligent Manufacturing actively explores green environmental protection solutions: implementing the waste heat recovery project of air compressor equipment to meet the hot water needs of 700 people in the park, saving more than 200,000 kWh of electricity each year; photovoltaic power generation accounts for more than 10% of the company's electricity consumption; 2-month energy storage discharge exceeds 110,000 kWh; introducing the world's top cutting machine head, efficiency improvement of more than 30%, energy consumption reduction of 60%; using high-efficiency refrigeration and energy-saving air conditioners, annual energy saving rate exceeds 20%; full steam energy-saving iron steam utilization rate is as high as 98%, energy consumption saving 40%-60%.
